Quality Manager, Wellingborough

As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and continually improving existing quality systems plus incorporating functions set out in the company policies and procedures, customer requirements and legislation.
You will lead the quality team with responsibility for compliance and quality assurance, and work with the manufacturing teams to achieve the highest quality standards. You will establish and maintain product quality and customer satisfaction; collect and verify process documentation including monitoring and reporting areas of non-compliance; assist in documentation and verification of hygiene practices.
The main responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day management of the quality department
- Carry out internal audit plans to meet the requirements of the business and ensure compliance with customer and third-party standards
- Work closely with the Technical Manager to ensure technical policies & quality management systems are suitably established, maintained, and applied.
- Drive technical problem investigation & problem solving, in conjunction with local and group management.
- Co-ordinate the continuous improvement of our HACCP across all departments.
- Manage Retailer systems to ensure technical compliance with requirements.
- Training staff to required levels in hygiene and food safety to ensure the company meets the requirements of customers, third parties and legislation.
- Lead and participate customer and third-party audits and visits.
- Maintaining the ERP system

Essential:
- Proven track record in QA management within food manufacturing
- Level 3 qualifications in both HACCP and Food Safety
- Extensive knowledge of working to BRC standards
- Excellent working knowledge of, and ability to develop HACCP, TACCP and QMS systems.
- Experience of leading customer and third-party audits.
- Strong customer focus and ability to build positive relationships.
- Previous experience of people management
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a food ingredient manufacturing or agricultural supply environment.
- Experience of working to major retailer standards
- Sound knowledge of IT systems and application to analytical equipment and data systems
- Knowledge of legislative requirements e.g., labelling, pack design
